Generative systems do not inherently privilege the newest version. They privilege salience, repetition, document stability, and the persistence of older signals across the web.
Why it matters
Teams then confuse editorial effort with interpretive effect. They believe the problem has been fixed because the canonical page is cleaner, while the surrounding graph still feeds the obsolete reconstruction.
What must be governed
- Distinguish source correction from graph correction and measure both separately.
- Identify which signals beyond the page still preserve the obsolete interpretation.
- Treat post-correction monitoring as part of the remediation, not as an optional follow-up.
